ABOUT LITTLE’S BOOT COMPANY

Founded in San Antonio, Texas, in 1915 by Lucien Little, Little’s Boot Company began as a shoe retailer and repair business before developing into a multigenerational custom cowboy bootmaking operation.

Lucien’s son Ben expanded the company’s bootmaking operations during the 1940s, introducing more elaborate Western designs alongside traditional working boots. Ben’s sons, John and Dave Little, subsequently continued the family business.

During the 1970s, the company increasingly specialized in high-end, individually fitted Western boots, incorporating exotic leathers, decorative stitching, and custom designs.

Lucchese 1883 • Brown + Turquoise Full-Stitch • Women’s 9 B • Original Box

These Lucchese 1883s are a good example of how far traditional stitching alone can carry a design. Rich chocolate-brown leather provides the backdrop for extensive turquoise Western stitching that continues from the shafts across the vamps and around the heel counters, giving the entire boot a unified look rather than concentrating all of the detail above the ankle. The pointed toe, scalloped tops and traditional Western heels keep the silhouette classic, while the turquoise thread gives the pair a distinctly sharper character. They also retain their original Lucchese box, an increasingly nice addition to find with an older pair.
