These are a showstopping pair of women’s cowboy boots by Laredo in a bold red and white two-tone leather, featuring large longhorn steer head and star inlay work on the shaft. Dating to the 1980s, these boots capture the fun, graphic spirit of the Urban Cowboy era when Western wear went full-throttle into fashion statement territory.
The boot is constructed with a cream/bone-white smooth leather vamp and lower foot area, transitioning to a vivid red leather shaft. The two colors meet at a pointed Western overlay cut where the shaft joins the vamp — a classic crown-shaped piece in white that frames the transition on both the front and back of the boot. The white leather piping runs along the seams and collar edge, tying the two-tone color scheme together cleanly.
The standout feature is the longhorn steer head inlay that dominates the center of each shaft on both the front and back. The steer heads are cut from the same cream/white leather as the vamp and are true leather inlay pieces — individually shaped and stitched into the red shaft. The horns sweep wide across the boot, and the proportions are bold and graphic. Above each steer head sit two five-pointed star inlays, also in white leather, flanking the upper shaft near the collar. The overall effect is unmistakably Texan — a rodeo-ready design that reads from across the room.
The collar features a deep V-shaped scallop at the front and back, trimmed in white piping, with small white leather pull tabs at the top on each side. The toe is a pointed Western snip profile with red decorative stitching on the white vamp — a cursive “Laredo” script that was a signature branding detail on many of their women’s boots from this period. The heel is a chunky, stacked black Western heel — slightly taller than a standard walking heel but still practical — with a black rubber sole and heel cap. The interior is lined in a light tan/cream material. The leather on both boots shows honest vintage character — some creasing in the red shaft leather (typical of softer fashion-grade leather after decades), minor scuffing and soil on the white vamp areas, and a bit of wear on the white inlay pieces.
