The Boots
A beautifully cohesive pair of 1883 by Lucchese cowgirl boots in genuine lizard — warm, elegant, and effortlessly versatile. The monochromatic honey-to-cognac palette from toe to top gives these a sophisticated, pulled-together look that works with virtually anything in your closet.
The lizard vamps display the characteristic tight, horizontal banded scale pattern in a warm honey/cognac coloration — glossy, smooth, and supple, with the natural variation in tone that makes genuine lizard so visually rich. The scales wrap generously from the sharp snip toe up over the instep and around the heel counter, giving you full exotic coverage where it matters most.
Above the lizard, the distressed tan/brown leather shafts feature elaborate Southwestern starburst and paisley stitchwork — a complex, multi-layered design combining zigzag lightning bolts, flowing paisley scrolls, and pointed starburst medallions in tonal cream and dark brown thread. The intentional distressing of the shaft leather gives these a warm, lived-in patina that complements the natural lizard beautifully — they look like they’ve been loved for years, even when new.
The sharp snip toe, stacked Western heel, and tall shaft proportions create a flattering, leg-lengthening silhouette. The warm tan interior lining confirms the Lucchese quality standard.
1883 by Lucchese
The 1883 by Lucchese line carries the founding year of the Lucchese company — a nod to over 140 years of Texas bootmaking heritage. The 1883 line represents quality Lucchese construction and materials at a more accessible price point than the top-tier Lucchese Classics, while still delivering the craftsmanship, fit, and exotic-leather expertise that the Lucchese name is built on. It’s the sweet spot: genuine Lucchese quality without the four-figure price tag.
Condition
These boots are in good vintage condition with honest wear. The lizard vamps are intact and glossy with the banded scale pattern well-defined throughout; there is natural creasing across the instep and some light wear/scuffing at the toe tips consistent with use. The distressed tan/brown leather shafts are supple with the kind of warm patina that only improves with age — the stitchwork is fully intact and crisp on all sides. As shown in the sole photos, the leather soles display moderate wear from use and the rubber heel caps show honest wear. Overall a structurally sound pair with the lizard in good shape and plenty of life left.
