Early 1940s Western Cowboy Boots — Men’s 10 D

A true wartime-era pair — authentic early 1940s cowboy boots built with the sleek lines and understated craftsmanship that defined pre-war western bootmaking.

Era & build

  • Maker: Unbranded early western maker
  • Era: Circa early 1940s
  • Traditional full-grain black leather vamps with chocolate brown shafts
  • Hand-cut cream inlay accents with classic scroll stitchwork
  • Slim almond toe typical of pre-1950 western silhouettes
  • Leather soles with stacked leather heels and rubber heel caps
  • Tall riding shaft with pull straps and hand-stitched top seam

Size & fit

  • Size: Men’s 10 D
  • Vintage western boots from this era tend to run slightly narrow with a sculpted instep and snug heel.

Condition grade: Vintage B

  • Strong overall structure for an 80+ year old pair
  • Beautiful natural creasing and patina throughout the shafts
  • Light scuffs and wear to the vamps consistent with age
  • Leather soles show honest wear but remain solid
  • Interior shows age but remains structurally sound

Why we love them

Boots from the early 1940s represent the golden age of American western bootmaking. Built before mass production dominated the industry, pairs like this were made in small regional shops with incredible attention to shape and balance. The slim toe, elegant heel pitch, and understated inlays give them a distinctly pre-war western silhouette that collectors and vintage enthusiasts chase today.
