These Lucchese 1883s are a good example of how far traditional stitching alone can carry a design. Rich chocolate-brown leather provides the backdrop for extensive turquoise Western stitching that continues from the shafts across the vamps and around the heel counters, giving the entire boot a unified look rather than concentrating all of the detail above the ankle. The pointed toe, scalloped tops and traditional Western heels keep the silhouette classic, while the turquoise thread gives the pair a distinctly sharper character. They also retain their original Lucchese box, an increasingly nice addition to find with an older pair.

The stitching is the story here. Instead of relying on exotic leather or applied ornamentation, Lucchese used color, symmetry and an unusually extensive stitched pattern to give this pair its identity.

Condition
Very Good Condition. The leather uppers remain clean and supple with light creasing and minor signs of wear consistent with careful use. Stitching remains exceptionally well preserved throughout. The leather soles show wear at the forefoot, but retain plenty of life, while the heels and rubber heel caps remain in very good shape.
