When Polo went west in the late ’70s, these were the boots that made the case — and this pair comes with the original Ralph Lauren Western box to prove it, stamped with the style number 2166 and the colorway that says it all: Benedictine and Bone.
The butterscotch leather has aged into exactly the kind of glow you can’t fake, set off by deep bordeaux inlays and tooled florals climbing the shafts. Cream piping traces the side seams, and the script RL logo sits stitched into the pull tabs — a quiet signature from before the polo player was on everything. Classic pointed toe, stacked leather heel, leather soles with plenty of life left.
Finding early RL Western is hard. Finding it boxed is nearly unheard of. These deserve a shelf as much as a dance floor — but they’d be happy with either.
