These vintage Lucchese 1883 boots feature striking pony hair (hair-on hide) vamps in vivid red and natural dark brown/black, paired with black leather shafts crowned by white longhorn skull inlays. The vamps are crafted from genuine pony hair — soft, plush hair-on hide — in a brilliant fire-engine red, accented at the toes with a natural dark brown/black patch that creates an organic, two-tone effect (no two pairs ever identical). The plush texture of the hair catches the light beautifully and adds a tactile, luxurious dimension you simply can’t get from smooth leather. The red hair continues up over the instep and around to the back of the lower shaft.

Condition
These boots are in good vintage condition with honest wear. The red and dark pony hair remains plush and intact across both vamps, with the vibrant red color well-preserved (some natural matting and light wear to the hair consistent with use). The black leather shafts show creasing and softening, and there is some visible wear/scuffing to the leather at the shafts including a small area of surface wear near the top of one shaft. The white longhorn inlays are intact and crisp. The leather soles show wear, and the stacked heels show scuffing. The red collar lining is intact. These are genuine vintage Lucchese boots with real character and bold personality.
