Tony Lama’s Firewalker design is one of those pairs that does not need much help making an impression. Black leather is cut with vivid red lizard inlays across the toes, heel counters and tall shafts, with the exotic leather worked into pointed, flame-like shapes and framed by red, burgundy and gold-toned stitching. Red hand-laced detailing along the vamp seams adds another layer without competing with the main pattern. Most importantly, this pair remains New Old Stock with its original Tony Lama hangtags and box, preserving the design much as it would have appeared when new.
Why We Love Them
The Firewalker motif is bold even by vintage Tony Lama standards, and the black-and-red contrast gives the design real presence. Finding the model unworn is notable on its own; finding it with both the original tags and box makes this a particularly complete example.
