The Boots
Pure rodeo energy. These vintage 1980s Justin cowgirl boots feature a bold electric blue and black two-tone design with dramatic bucking bronc rider inlays that wrap around the entire boot. The design is graphic, confident, and unmistakably Western — a celebration of rodeo culture rendered in vivid color.
The lower vamps and heel counters are crafted from glossy electric blue leather, while the upper shafts are smooth black. Bridging the two is the star of the show: large turquoise-blue leather inlays depicting a cowboy atop a bucking bronc, with the horse’s legs kicking and mane flying. The rider silhouette appears on both the inner and outer sides of each boot, creating a 360-degree rodeo scene that looks incredible from every angle. The inlays are precisely cut and stitched, with black detail lines within the blue leather adding definition to the rider’s hat, the horse’s mane, and the flying hooves.
The pointed snip toe, stacked fashion heel, and classic V-notch collar give these boots a feminine Western silhouette that’s both dressy and fun. Black pull straps sit at the top of the shafts. The leather soles bear honest wear.
Justin and the Rodeo Connection
Justin Boot Company has been synonymous with professional rodeo since the company’s founding in 1879. As the official boot of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the National Finals Rodeo, Justin’s connection to the sport runs deeper than any other brand. The bucking bronc — one of rodeo’s most iconic events — was a natural subject for their boot designs, and this pair captures that wild, eight-second ride in leather.
During the 1980s, Justin was still manufacturing in Fort Worth, Texas, and producing some of their most colorful and creative women’s designs. The bold blue-and-black color combination was peak 1980s Western fashion — a time when cowgirl boots were as much about self-expression as they were about tradition.
Condition
These boots are in good vintage condition. The electric blue leather remains vibrant and glossy with natural creasing at the vamps and ankle. The black leather shafts show softening and creasing consistent with regular wear. All bronc rider inlays are securely attached and intact. The leather soles show moderate-to-significant wear, and the stacked heels show scuffing at the base. The pointed toes show minor wear at the tips. These boots have been danced in, ridden in, and lived in — and they’re ready for round two.
