The Boots
A beautiful pair of vintage 1980s Justin cowgirl boots pairing genuine natural python vamps with soft cream/bone leather shafts — a classic, feminine two-tone combination that’s both eye-catching and endlessly wearable. The warm golden python against the pale cream uppers gives these boots a sun-faded, Southwestern elegance that’s pure vintage charm.
The python vamps display the skin in its natural coloration — warm golden-tan and honey tones with darker brown banding and markings — and the large, well-defined scales catch the light with a glossy natural luster. The snakeskin extends from the pointed toe up over the instep and around the heel counter, wrapping the entire lower boot in premium exotic. The varied tones and the natural diamond patterning mean no two boots (or pairs) are ever exactly alike.
The tall shafts are crafted from creamy bone/off-white leather and adorned with elaborate flame-and-feather stitchwork in tan and taupe thread — flowing, symmetrical patterns that climb the full height of each boot. The pointed snip toe, stacked Western heel, and pull straps complete the silhouette. Inside, the boots are clearly stamped “Justin / Made in U.S.A. / Style 4697” with the hand-marked size “6½ B,” confirming the maker and the American-made vintage pedigree.
Justin Boot Company
Justin is one of the most storied names in American bootmaking — founded in 1879 by H.J. “Daddy Joe” Justin and based in Fort Worth, Texas, where it earned its reputation as the “Standard of the West.” Justin’s vintage exotic boots are prized today for combining genuine premium skins with the brand’s dependable, time-tested construction. A 1980s Made-in-U.S.A. Justin python pair like this is a genuine vintage find.
Condition
These boots are in good vintage condition with honest wear. The python skin is intact with scales tight and the natural pattern beautifully preserved throughout the vamps; there is some honest wear and minor scuffing at the toes consistent with age and use (see photos). The cream leather shafts show light creasing and some age-toning typical of vintage light-colored leather, with the tan flame stitchwork fully intact and crisp. The leather soles show wear from use but remain solid, with the Justin heel stamp visible, and the stacked heels show wear with intact heel caps. The interior is clean with the Justin markings legible. Overall a well-cared-for pair with plenty of life left.
