The Boots
These striking vintage Nocona cowboy boots feature full python snakeskin vamps in a gorgeous natural tan and brown colorway, paired with tall black leather shafts adorned with bold, sweeping flame-style stitching in gold and brown tones. The dramatic contrast between the exotic python and the dark leather upper creates a look that is unmistakably 1980s in its confident, unapologetic style.

The python skin is in exceptional condition for its age — the scales remain tight, glossy, and intact with no peeling or lifting. The natural pattern of the snake displays beautifully, with rich golden tans, warm browns, and dark accent markings creating a one-of-a-kind pattern that no two pairs can replicate. The pointed toe profile and classic Western heel are pure Nocona craftsmanship.

The leather soles show moderate wear but retain excellent structural integrity, and the rubber heel caps remain solid. The interior is fully leather-lined in Nocona’s signature golden tan. These boots were clearly well cared for by their original owner.

The Nocona Legacy
The Nocona Boot Company was founded in 1925 by Enid Justin, the daughter of H.J. “Daddy Joe” Justin, founder of the Justin Boot Company. When her brothers moved the family business to Fort Worth in 1925, Enid — who had been stitching boot tops since age twelve — refused to leave. She stayed in Nocona, Texas, and started her own company with seven employees, eventually building it into one of the top five boot manufacturers in the country.

During the 1980s, when these boots were crafted, Nocona was at the height of its powers as an independent operation. The company was renowned for its exotic leather work, and python was among the most sought-after skins of the era. In 1981, Enid Justin sold Nocona Boot Company to Justin Industries, reuniting the family brands under one roof.

Why This Pair is Special
A men’s size 14 D is exceptionally rare in vintage cowboy boots. Most manufacturers produced limited runs of larger sizes, and very few have survived decades of wear. Finding a pair of genuine python Noconas in this size — and in this condition — is a genuine collector’s find.

These boots represent the best of American bootmaking: genuine exotic leather, quality construction, and the unmistakable swagger of a bygone era when cowboy boots were the ultimate statement piece.
