The Boots
High-contrast, high-drama, all vintage. These Justin cowgirl boots pair creamy ivory leather with bold black sunburst inlays and a black wingtip toe trimmed in crisp white buckstitch — a striking black-and-white combination that’s both retro and effortlessly cool. They’ve got real rockabilly-meets-Southwestern personality and the kind of two-tone graphic appeal that never goes out of style.
The ivory leather shafts are dramatically adorned with black leather inlays in a bold sunburst/thunderbird pattern — pointed rays radiating outward from a central black field, with smaller geometric black triangles climbing toward the scalloped collar. The inlay cutwork is precise, with the cream leather framing each black shape and small punched details adding texture. The design wraps around the front and back of each boot for a complete 360-degree look.
The toes feature a black leather wingtip overlay accented with hand-laced white buckstitch — a classic detail that ties beautifully into the black-and-white theme — while the heel counters carry matching black overlays. The pointed toe and stacked Western heel complete the silhouette, and the interior is leather-lined with the boots resting on leather soles.
Justin Boot Company
Justin is one of the most respected names in American bootmaking — founded in 1879 by H.J. “Daddy Joe” Justin and based in Fort Worth, Texas, where it earned its reputation as the “Standard of the West.” Justin’s vintage women’s boots are prized today for their bold inlay designs and dependable construction, and this black-and-white sunburst pair is a perfect example of the eye-catching style that makes vintage Justins so collectible.
Condition
These boots are in good vintage condition with honest wear. The ivory leather shows creasing, some light soiling and scuffing consistent with age and wear (see photos), particularly across the vamps. The black sunburst inlays and white buckstitch remain intact and crisp. The black wingtip toes show some scuffing at the tips. The leather soles show wear from use but remain solid, and the stacked heels show wear with intact heel caps. There is some faint handwriting visible inside one shaft (a previous owner’s note). Overall a well-loved pair with plenty of style and life left.
