The Boots
A bold, head-turning pair of vintage Tony Lama cowgirl boots in black leather with dramatic red flame/claw inlays that command attention from every angle. These are not subtle boots — they’re built to be seen.

The design wraps 360 degrees and tells a story at every turn. The red flame inlays rise up the shafts like jagged claws or dragon wings — large, angular, and aggressive against the black leather. At the collar, a row of yellow-green diamond cutouts adds an unexpected pop of color. At the ankle transition, small white petal cutouts with yellow-green crescent-moon accents create a delicate counterpoint to the aggressive flames above. The red wingtip toe features a perforated brogue edge with a flowing black flame overlay, and the red heel counter on the back is crowned with a masquerade-mask-shaped cutout — a dramatic finishing detail that’s pure theater.

The snip toe, stacked Western heel, and supple black leather give these a classic cowgirl silhouette beneath all that rock-and-roll energy.

Tony Lama — Since 1911
Tony Lama has been building cowboy boots in El Paso, Texas, since 1911 — over a century of Western bootmaking heritage. During the 1980s and ‘90s, Tony Lama produced some of their most expressive, colorful women’s designs, and this black-and-red flame pair is a prime example of that fearless era. Bold color, bold inlay, bold attitude — backed by the quality and craftsmanship that made Tony Lama one of the most recognized names in Western footwear.

Condition
These boots are in good vintage condition with honest wear. The black leather is supple and well broken-in with creasing at the instep and shafts. All red, yellow-green, and white inlays and cutouts are intact and secure — no lifting, peeling, or separation. The red leather at the toes and heel counters shows some scuffing and surface wear consistent with use. As shown in the sole photos, the leather soles display moderate-to-heavy wear and the rubber heel caps show honest use. The perforated brogue detailing at the wingtip is crisp and intact. Overall a structurally sound pair with all the design elements in great shape — the kind of broken-in character that only adds to their rock-and-roll appeal.
