Pre-Ban • Tony Lama • Anteater • Men’s 5.5 EE / Women’s 8.5 M
This vintage Tony Lama pair has an unusually strong transition from exotic vamp to shaft. Honey-toned pre-ban anteater rises well above the traditional vamp line and wraps through the heel counters, giving the lower half a substantial amount of texture and visual weight. Chocolate-brown leather shafts carry cream-and-gold feather and wheat-style stitching, with matching anteater accents at the pull straps tying the upper and lower sections together. The warm palette is cohesive throughout, but there is enough contrast between the raised exotic texture and smooth shafts to keep the design interesting.
Why We Love Them
The anteater coverage is the standout. It climbs higher than on many production pairs, which gives the boots a much stronger exotic presence, while the restrained brown shafts and feather stitching keep the overall look traditional.
